If you had kids with you in Pompano Beach on Saturday, you had options — and both of them were free.
Touch-A-Truck turned a stretch of local pavement into a kid’s dream come true. Fire trucks, dump trucks, police vehicles, construction equipment — all on display and all touchable, climbable, and horn-honkable. The annual event draws families from across Broward County, and this year was no different. It’s one of those simple, well-run city programs that reminds you why Pompano’s parks department punches above its weight.
Over at the convention center, the Intergalactic Bead Show ran through the weekend, drawing jewelry makers, bead collectors, and craft enthusiasts with tables full of unique materials from around the world. Not exactly the same demographic as Touch-A-Truck, but the energy was equally good.
Two free events, two totally different audiences, one Saturday. That’s the kind of weekend that makes it easy to love living here.
