Super Bowl LX kicks off tonight, and Pompano Beach is as prepared for it as any beach city in South Florida knows how to be.
The sports bars have been advertising specials all week. Briny Irish Pub, which normally doesn’t lean into the American football experience, is making an exception tonight — the game will be on, the beer is cold, and the crowd will be there. Arrive by 5:30 p.m. if you want a seat without a fight.
For the full game-day food spread, the restaurant options along Atlantic Blvd. and Sample Road have been offering Super Bowl packages all week — wings, loaded nachos, the whole playbook. Several spots were already taking reservations earlier this week, so walk-ins may be a gamble depending on where you go.
If you’re hosting at home, Pompano Beach’s grocery stores have been well-stocked with the required provisions. The snowbird population takes game-day entertaining seriously, and the stores have learned to meet that demand.
The WSOP Circuit at Harrah’s wraps up tomorrow, so tonight is also the last night to catch live tournament poker at the casino if you want to combine Super Bowl halftime with a hand or two. Harrah’s will have the game on across the floor.
