Prescott’s Pompano Beach is the kind of place this city has been missing. It sits at 1308 North Federal Highway, right where US 1 meets the 14th Street Causeway, and it opened with a simple promise: breakfast early, tapas late, and good times always. Since opening, the neighborhood has clearly noticed.
The concept is easy to love. In the morning, Prescott’s runs a full breakfast menu. The Big Breakfast, avocado toast, a lox bagel and three-egg omelets are the anchors. At noon, the kitchen flips to tapas. Think ceviche, coconut shrimp, wings, mini smash burgers, French onion soup and a proper fish and chips. Because the plates are small, it is easy to order a few and share.
What makes Prescott’s Pompano Beach different
First, there is the all-day happy hour. Most bars in town make you wait until four o’clock. Prescott’s does not, and that alone has made it a favorite for beach-day lunches and afternoon meetups. Second, the room feels personal. The owner, Prescott, is usually on the floor, and regulars already know his dog, Bacon, by name.
Then there is the calendar. Prescott’s books live music several nights a week, hosts trivia and comedy nights, and has added a Sunday brunch with singer Violet Jeffries. On holiday weekends the bar goes bigger. For Labor Day, the plan is live music from 4 to 7 p.m. and $20 beer buckets. On college football nights, the TVs take over.
Hours and the basics
Prescott’s is open Monday through Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The phone number is 786-205-2675, and the menu and event schedule are posted at prescottspompanobeach.com.
Parking is on site, and the location is a quick hop from the beach. If you are heading back from the pier or the Fisher Family Pier restaurants, it is on the way home for most of east Pompano.
Why it matters for the neighborhood
North Federal Highway has been changing fast. New apartments, new shops and new traffic have all arrived in the last few years. What the corridor still lacks are casual, locally owned spots where you can linger. Prescott’s Pompano Beach fills that gap, and it does so without pretense. Nobody dresses up. The beer is cold, the plates come out quickly, and the staff remembers your order.
