Nordstrom Rack Pompano Beach opens its doors on Thursday, September 17, and the retailer is throwing a proper party to mark it. The new 28,000-square-foot store sits at 1440 NE 23rd Street in Pompano Citi Centre, at the corner of Federal Highway and Copans Road. In fact, two events lead up to opening day, and one of them requires an RSVP.
Pre-Opening Shopping Party: Tuesday, September 15
Before the general public gets in, Nordstrom Rack is hosting a Pre-Opening Shopping Party on Tuesday, September 15. Guests can browse the new Pompano Citi Centre Rack before anyone else, with sips and light bites while they shop. However, space is limited, and an RSVP is required. You can reserve a spot at the Pre-Opening Shopping Party RSVP page.
Grand Opening Celebration: Thursday, September 17
The Grand Opening Celebration starts early. At 8 a.m., shoppers can line up outside for a chance to win a $1,000 Nordstrom Rack gift card. The drawing takes place at 8:45 a.m., so arrive well before then. After that, the fun starts. Then doors open at 9 a.m., and the store launches with savings of up to 70 percent on the season’s brands and styles. Details are posted on the Grand Opening event page.
What Nordstrom Rack Pompano Beach will carry
Rack is Nordstrom’s off-price banner. The stores sell many of the same brands found at full-line Nordstrom locations, in apparel, shoes, accessories, beauty and home, at discounts of up to 70 percent. In addition, the Pompano Beach store will handle online order pickup for both Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com, ship-to-store, and free online returns. In other words, it works as a service hub as well as a bargain hunt.
Notably, this will be Nordstrom Rack’s 20th store in Florida. When the company announced the location last year, Nordstrom Rack president Gemma Lionello said the retailer looked forward to “being a part of the Pompano Beach community.” The store’s phone number is 954-944-4633.
A big get for Pompano Citi Centre
The arrival matters beyond the sale racks. Pompano Citi Centre changed hands in December for $65.2 million, and the new owner promised a hold-and-improve approach with tenant upgrades. Clearly, Nordstrom Rack is the first marquee result of that plan. It joins Burlington, TJ Maxx, Ross Dress for Less, Five Below, Chuck E. Cheese and Amped Fitness, which turns the center into a real off-price destination for north Broward. We covered the sale in our story on the Pompano Citi Centre acquisition.
For shoppers, meanwhile, the practical upside is simple. Starting September 17, Pompano Beach has a Rack of its own, with plenty of parking and a location most residents already pass every week.
