Between the Sapphire 5th anniversary of Jazz Fest, the formal next step on the $2 billion downtown City Hall project, the McNair Park reopening, and a steady drumbeat of cultural and culinary news, the city racked up more headline-worthy moments in thirty days than it has in any month I can remember. Here’s the recap.

- April 2: McNair Park’s massive renovation came online — turf football field, new clubhouse, fitness center, and 270 added parking spaces.
- April 10: Bids were due for the new downtown City Hall and parking deck — a $2 billion long-term vision suddenly on a real timeline.
